This Privacy Policy explains how the Municipality of Puerto Galera collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Puerto Galera Pass, in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

1. Who We Are
The Puerto Galera Pass is the official tourist registration and verification service operated by or on behalf of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of the Municipality of Puerto Galera, Province of Oriental Mindoro (the "Municipality"). The Municipality acts as the personal information controller for the data collected through this Service.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following personal information when you register:
- Full name and nationality of each traveler;
- Email address and contact number;
- Residential or home address;
- Travel details such as arrival and departure dates, accommodation, and purpose of visit;
- Identification or supporting documents submitted for verification; and
- Payment reference details where tourism fees apply.
We may also collect limited technical information (such as device and browser data) to operate and secure the Service.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your personal data is processed to:
- Register and verify travelers and issue digital travel passes and QR codes;
- Facilitate the collection of applicable tourism-related fees;
- Support tourism management, safety, security, and emergency response in the locality;
- Generate anonymized or aggregated statistics for planning and reporting; and
- Comply with legal, regulatory, and public-health obligations.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data based on your consent, the performance of a public function or mandate of the Municipality, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests relating to tourism administration and public safety, consistent with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its implementing rules.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your information only when necessary with:
- Authorized offices and personnel of the Municipality and its tourism agencies;
- National government agencies where required by law;
- Accredited service providers who help operate the Service (such as payment and hosting providers), under confidentiality obligations; and
- Law enforcement or authorities where lawfully required.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above, to comply with legal and audit requirements, and for legitimate tourism-management purposes. When no longer needed, data is securely deleted, anonymized, or disposed of.

We implement reasonable organizational, physical, and technical measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
